DISCUSSIONS: Each training session is preceded by a discussion on what can and often does go wrong during that particular part of the training process, and how to handle those situations and challenges from a methodology and mindset perspective. These discussions (fireside chats they could be called) are a critical part of the program as they go into things that cannot easily be demonstrated yet that are crucial to know before the process starts.
VARIOUS APPLICATIONS: These videos were not shot in a weekend, or even a week or a month. The video was shot over a period of many months as I tried to integrate dogs of different temperaments and personalities into the process. It is quite easy to show a certain type of dog breezing through the program. I demonstrate many dogs of different temperaments and personalities and how to handle each one in their own unique way. The same methods may be used with most dogs but how those methods are applied can be quite DIFFERENT. Whatever you do don't forget this! You can mess up the methods on occasion and still produce a well trained dog with a great attitude, but if you mess up the mindset part of the process and get all the methods right you can produce inferior if not disastrous results.
MISTAKES ARE OK: I show dogs with high drive, low drive, and dogs in between. I show stubborn dogs, sensitive dogs, tough dogs, and sulky dogs. I show what it looks like when things go well and when things don't, and what to do when they DON'T go well. I show what it looks like to plan to work on one thing and it turns into something else. There may even be a mistake or two that I made on the videos somewhere (I guess I should have edited those out, I would hate for someone to think a professional dog trainer could make a mistake).
PROPER USE of E-COLLAR: The program does consist of the use of the electronic collar. And though the electronic collar (e-collar) can be and is abused, the people that abuse the use of the e-collar are the same people that would abuse any method of correction used. The e-collar when used correctly (which means NEVER with emotion) is in my opinion the most productive and humane way to train a dog. The timing of your corrections are not only perfect but the intensity level can be set to the level that matches the dogs temperament. I have seen a dog's life saved by the proper use of the e-collar. Imagine you're out hunting or on a walk for that matter and your dog jumps a rabbit and the chase is on, and the chase is heading for a busy road. With a dog who is PROPERLY conditioned to the e-collar we say here and if the dog disobeys and continues the chase we follow the next here with a nick (correction with the collar) and the dog turns and comes back to us. We return home with our faithful friend at our side. The dog without the e-collar on or one that has not properly been conditioned on the e-collar also chases the rabbit but on the multiple here commands given there is no response, or an improper response. The end result is not pleasant as you end up carrying your dog off the road to the vet or worse. Your faithful friend will not be accompanying you home this day. What is more inhumane, giving a dog a fair correction for disobedience with the e-collar or having to pick your dog up off the road after being hit by a car? So yes, the e-collar can be and is abused, but used correctly it cannot only save your dogs life but produce a dog trained to a much higher level than it otherwise could be while producing a positive working attitude in the dog.

- As I have said this program will teach you to train your dog to a high level while cultivating a positive working attitude in the dog, and in you.
- This program will not only give you the necessary tools and methods to train your dog but the proper mindset as well (which in my mind is as important as the methods).
- This program will cultivate a bond between you and your dog that will not only produce great results out hunting but at home and in day to day living as well. It is a great feeling to know you can take your dog any place at anytime and have complete control of him or her.

- This program will not only produce a well trained hunting dog and family dog but lay a foundation that will be with the dog the rest of its life. And if you choose, gives you the foundation to pursue higher and higher levels of training.
- This program will give you the confidence to train and handle your dog to any level you choose.
- This program could very well get you invited to some fantastic places to hunt.
- This program is set up to allow you to access any part of the program quickly and easily. It would have been cheaper to put more than one week on each DVD but I did not think it would be as user friendly.
- This program will produce a feeling of pride and accomplishment in you as you see your dog bare the fruit of your time and effort.
- The results this program gets for you could very well have your friends asking you to train their dog.
- This program will not only produce quality hunts but many great memories as well. Memories that you will cherish forever.
- The cost of getting your dog professionally trained can go anywhere from $1500 to $2400. The cost of this complete 12 week, 12 DVD program is $99. That comes out to under $8.25 a DVD (or a week if you want to look at it that way). And that does not include the manual or action sheets which are part of the $99.
- Though professional training obviously is valuable and has some advantages, and for some this is the way to go for any number of reasons. But for those wanting to train their own dog they will gain benefits someone that has their dog trained could never get. One of my biggest challenges in dogs I train for people is getting the owners on the same page at the end of the training so the transition from me back to them is a smooth, productive and an effective one. The bond and communication you cultivate from training your own dog you cannot get in any other way. And it lasts a lifetime.
